Scholarship Description:

The American Association of University Women has been offering international scholarships since 1917. This program aims to support women conducting full-time or graduate studies in the United States, as well as women who are not residents or permanent residents in the United States.

AAUW offers a limited number of awards to female applicants who are members of Graduate Women International for students wishing to study outside the United States (excluding the applicant’s home country) (see list of GWI affiliates). ..

Female applicants must have a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a US university degree by the application deadline and must be enrolled in the institution proposed at the time of application. Candidates are selected based on academic performance and commitment to women and girls.

Degree Level:

American Association of University Women USA International Fellowships 2023 (BIGGEST SCHOLARSHIP) is available to undertake Masters, Ph.D., and Post Doctorate level programs at the American Association of University Women.

Eligibility Criteria:

International scholarships are not open to previous recipients of AAUW national scholarships or scholarships (except for branch, local awards, or community action grants).

Employees, including AAUW Board members, committees, committees, task forces, and current internships, are not eligible to apply for AAUW scholarships and scholarships. Current winners are eligible to be elected or appointed to the Board of Directors, Committees, Committees, and Task Forces.

International fellowships are open to scholars who are considered women in all areas of research at accredited higher education institutions and for postdoctoral researchers. AAUW makes the final decision on what constitutes a qualified institution.

Unsuccessful applicants may reapply.

To be eligible for an International Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Have citizenship in a country other than the U.S. or possession of a nonimmigrant visa if residing in the U.S. Women who are currently, or expect to be during the fellowship year, a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or dual citizen with the U.S. and another country are not eligible.

Hold an academic degree (earned in the U.S. or abroad) equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree completed by November 15, 2021.

Intend to devote themself full-time to the proposed academic plan during the fellowship year.

Intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career and upon completion of their studies.

Be proficient in English and confirm proficiency by submitting one of the Required Components (see below), which include certain English proficiency exams, transcripts from English-speaking institutions, or a written statement verifying English is the applicant’s native language. Applicants planning to take one of the accepted English proficiency exams should plan for and take the test as early as possible. Please direct questions about the tests to the test provider.

Master’s/first professional degree and doctoral applicants must have applied by November 15, 2021, to an accredited institution of study for the period of the fellowship year and must indicate the name of the institution in the International Fellowship application. While acceptance is not required at the time of application, fellows must provide official confirmation from the institution with their award acceptance materials.

Master’s/first professional degree fellowships are intended for master’s or professional degree-level programs such as J.D., M.F.A., L.L.M., M.Arch., or medical degrees such as M.D., D.D.S., etc. Certificates, associate degrees, and undergraduate degrees are ineligible.

Doctoral fellowships are intended for doctorate degrees classified as research degrees, such as Ph.D. or Ed.D.
Postdoctoral applicants must provide proof of their doctorate degree; hold a doctorate classified as a research degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D., D.B.A., D.M.) or an M.F.A. by November 15, 2021; and indicate where they will conduct their research.

Master’s/first professional degree and doctoral applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited institution located in the U.S. during the fellowship year.

A limited number of awards are available to Graduate Women International members for study or research in any country other than their own. Beware of foreign branches of US agencies outside the US. Will be considered.
Applicants may apply for a fellowship in any year of the program but must complete a year of research or research. International grants do not fund research or research in some years. Programs ending before April of the scholarship year are not eligible.

Distance Learning / Online Programs: Masters / First Professional Degree and Ph.D. grants support traditional face-to-face courses at the university. This scholarship program does not fund distance learning, online programs, or degrees that rely heavily on distance learning components. The final decision on what constitutes distance learning in the context of these scholarships is made by the AAUW. The AAUW is accepting applications from candidates who are temporarily studying remotely due to COVID-19 precautions at their institution.

Recommendations:

Please provide three recommendations from you, your job, and a professor or professional colleague who is familiar with your academic background in your academic efforts. Wherever possible, the nominee should be a professor or expert colleague in the applicant’s home country who can talk about the applicant’s qualifications and the needs of the country to be achieved as part of the research or research project. .. Documents:

Proof of highest grade: Upload transcripts** from the college or university where the highest grade (not certificate) was earned. The highest degree must be at least a bachelor’s degree (must be obtained no later than November 15, 2021).

Sub-grades** should contain a list of courses taken and grades earned.

If the institution has transcripts or a list of courses taken and does not provide grades earned or if the degree does not require coursework, an official letter from the institution that received the degree, including the date of graduation, must be downloaded.

Do not upload copies of additional certificates or other documents that the candidate may have received during their studies. Proof of ongoing registration (currently registered applicants only): If registered, upload a transcript ** / course list/letter from the institution of the university where the applicant is currently registered. increase.
The transcript must include a list of courses taken and grades earned.

Many transcripts do not include the current course. If your grades for the Fall 2021 semester are not available and are not included in your transcript, you will need to submit a list of courses you have taken during that semester from your institution’s registry office.

The official TOEFL or IELTS score report is acceptable and valid. The concession is valid for 2 years. Institutional TOEFL scores and other English proficiency test scores will not be accepted.

Minimum acceptable scores are as follows:

TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test): 79
TOEFL Essentials: 8.5
Revised TOEFL Paper-Delivered Test: 60
IELTS: 6.5

A written statement verifying the applicant’s native language is English.
Academic transcript or diploma confirming one of the following:
A secondary diploma or undergraduate degree is from an English-speaking institution.

One semester of full-time study in the applicant’s discipline at an English-speaking institution between November 2019 and November 2021.

*A certified English translation is required for all components provided in a foreign language. The translation requires a certification mark or official signature to prove that the translation is accurate and complete.

** All transcripts provided must include the applicant’s name, school name, all courses and grades, and other information required by the application procedure.
