About us
The Gujranwala Electric Power Company Limited (GEPCO) was established over the old Area Electricity Board’s authority and electrification network, which was established in the early 1980s. Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, and Mandi Bahauddin were included in the new district.
GEPCO was founded on April 25, 1998, and received its certificate of incorporation on June 5, 1998. A Board of Directors is in charge of management and administration (BOD).
The Government of Pakistan (GoP) decided in the 1960s to establish an independent and autonomous Authority to deal with all accessible water resources as well as the power system network, which included power generation, transmission, and distribution. The Water And Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Pakistan’s second-largest agency after the Pakistan Army, was established. WAPDA’s electricity distribution network was separated into eight Area Electricity Boards (AEB) in the 1980s, with Gujranwala being one of the AEBs among different Electricity Boards dealing with power distribution system.
